I'm not for gimmicks. I like technology and am obviously interested in advancements of motion picture and sound recording, but those things don't define filmmaking and never have. Story and character are the real heart of film production. Technology is a tool. But as I was editing pictures yesterday of a shoot in downtown Toronto, I was reminded how much colour and dynamic range new camera technology is able to capture. Its impressive. I helps you feel Spring. And it helps tell the story.
